About 2 years ago I was diagnosed by a MD with type 2 diabetes and promptly prescribed metphormin.
This came as a shock to me. I was overweight but did not think about being diabetic. Anyway I was sent home with prescription in hand and nothing more. The doctor did explain anything about diabetes or anything. He just sent me home with the prescription.
So on my way home I stopped at the pharmacy and had my prescription filled. When I got home I took my first dose and got online to learn more about metphormin and diabetes. What I found out is that the drug is hard on your liver but is better than having high blood sugar which is harder on all your organs. So I continued to take metphormin but was not really comfortable taking it.
